WILLIAM PRYOR YOUTH LEADER SCHOLARSHIP

 

2010 - 2011 

 

Purpose:

 

To offer Rhode Island USBC Youth Association bowlers encouragement to continue supporting the values and principles upon which USBC Youth Association is established, to assist in the furtherance of their education and to honor William Pryor who teaches all children the meaning of “BOWLING IS FUN”.

 

 

Eligibility:

 

All Rhode Island USBC Youth Association members in good standings either attending high school or continuing to further their education.

 

Active participation in the activities of the Rhode Island USBC Youth Association is recommended but not a requirement. Leadership, Conduct, Sportsmanship, Attitude and above all HAVING FUN are qualities we are encouraging.

 

Forced suspension or expulsion of an individual from the USBC Youth Association or any other sanctioned bowling organization will result in disqualification for any pending scholarship awards and complete forfeiture of all scholarships that individuals have already been awarded.

 

Awards Process:

 

Eligible Rhode Island USBC Youth Association members may submit a scholarship application. Applications must be received by the Head Coaches who will review the applications and forward them with any personal information or recommendations to the State Scholarship Committee (three impartial volunteers) no later than April 10, 2011. Scholarships will be awarded at the State Banquet on May 2011. The two highest rated scores, one boy and one girl, will be awarded a $250.00 Scholarship.

 

Scholarships will be disbursed at their face value at the time of the award.  Interest is not accrued on behalf of the scholarship winner.

 

Disbursement of funds will be made through the Rhode Island USBC Youth Association’s SMART Program, upon proof of acceptance by the recipient to an accredited institute of higher learning.
